# Staking System

## <mark style="color:yellow;">What is staking?</mark>

Staking refers to locking up governance tokens on a platform in exchange for staking rewards and other benefits. This allows stakers to earn a passive income from their tokens without ever having to sell.

In Digital Game, users will receive *<mark style="color:green;">**adDGM**</mark>* issued by the platform after staking *<mark style="color:green;">**$DGM**</mark><mark style="color:blue;">**.**</mark>*

There are *<mark style="color:yellow;">**5 different locking periods**</mark>* available for users. Lock duration determines the corresponding amount of *<mark style="color:green;">**adDGM**</mark>* received. When users want to get the same amount of *<mark style="color:green;">**adDGM**</mark>* for different staking lock-in periods, as a result, the amount of *<mark style="color:green;">**DGM**</mark>* they need to stake will be different.

Users can obtain *<mark style="color:green;">**DGM**</mark>* either through buying from ***Exchanges***, ***PvP ranking rewards*** or ***Referral ranking rewards.***

Stakers can lock up their *<mark style="color:green;">**DGM**</mark>* tokens in the <mark style="color:red;">**DAO**</mark> via the official Digital Game website and share the majority of the platform’s earnings <mark style="color:yellow;">**(❗️Up to 60% of the platform's earning❗️)**</mark>, which are from the following sources:

* NFT Synthesis - NFT Upgrades (*<mark style="color:green;">**DGM**</mark>*)
* Purchase of mystery boxes and treasure boxes (*<mark style="color:orange;">**BET**</mark>*)
* Transaction on marketplace (APT)

Each day at 0:00 UTC, accumulated rewards from the previous day will be allocated to the stakers and <mark style="color:yellow;">**the allocated rewards will be released block by block in a period of roughly 7 days**</mark> from staking rewards pool (there could be some difference based on the block time).<br>
